This was my little man last week.

Somewhere between church nursery & the gym kids club, my Harrison picked up a stomach virus.
Yesterday I was thrown up on {twice} and changed 42 diapers.
H slept for 14 hours last night, woke up at 10:00 am to eat and is asleep again.
Praying that he is on the mend.

I'm convinced there's nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby.....
especially a teething sleeping baby.
I'll sure be happy when those little bunny teeth finally push through because they are giving Harrison a fit. He took a 2 1/2 hour nap this morning after I gave him some ibuprofen and numbed up those gums.
Poor kiddo.

On a completely random note.
I've been meaning to inquire about this for a while, but just kept forgetting.
Did any of ya'll send Harrison this sweet teething toy?
I'd love to send a proper thank you note, but it didn't come with a card or name.

So here's the deal.....folks in Seattle don't know what to do with all this snow.

What they do know how to do is shut down streets & get their sled on.

We live near one of the steepest streets in the city so we bundled up the baby & went for a walk.

We braved yet another plane ride this past weekend to visit Jody's youngest bro. & family. With all this snow on the ground, here in Seattle, it's hard to believe that 2 days ago we were in warm Arizona. The weather was mild, the babies were adorable and it was just really nice to spend some quality time with my brother & sister-in-law. Saying goodbye is never easy

Holy 2011.....you officially trump the craziness of 2008

I know that you can't tangibly love a year, but if I could it would be 2011.

So in the spirit of insanity from the past, here's my laundry list of what went down this past year......

In January we announced SURPRISE....we're 12 weeks preg! {and that went down in the books as the hardest secret I've ever kept....EVER!}
In February Jody applied {and was accepted} to become an Army JAG and our pregnancy became very real
March brought a big change on the job front and an opportunity we couldn't turn down. We also found out that we were having a Mr.
In April my belly was growing at record speed and we gave our baby boy a name
May was a crazy exciting month.....Jody graduated from law school and both our families came out to celebrate with us. I also entered my 3rd trimester and wondered why everyone stared at me during my step class. {Now looking back at my pictures I totally understand}
In June I took a nasty spill in the yard and ended up in the hospital for monitoring. My ankles also disappeared just in time for our maternity photos
July was go time and Jody headed to Seattle to take the bar exam. My girlfriend, Megan, threw me an amazing southern themed baby shower and we found out I was going to need a c-section.
Oh August.....August was the most magically stressful month of my existence. We welcomed our sweet Harrison and moved a few weeks later.
In September I didn't blog much because I was trying to figure out how to be a mom.....Harrison cried a lot, I cried a lot and somehow we made it through the whole ordeal alive
October was soooo much better than September {like 100x's better}. Harrison and I finally got into a rhythm and I joined a moms group. My sweet friend Kerri came to visit and we found out that Jody passed the bar.....Hallelujah!
In November my super rad sister-in-law, Kristy, and niece, Annyson, came for a much needed visit. Also, Jody got sworn in and became a legit attorney
December was my most favorite month of the year! Harrison had a long list of 1st......he met Santa, rode on an airplane, was introduced to his GA uncles and slept without being swaddled. The night of December 31st I snuggled into bed and thanked God for the blessings he bestowed on us in 2011, but most of all I thanked him for letting me start 2012 as a family of 3.

As I look back on the past year I am reminded what an amazing God I serve. He is a God that answers prayers and fills our needs in the most amazing ways possible. I know that all years will not be as easy as 2011 {take for example 2010 and the better part of 09'}, but I can use this year as the promise that the Lord hears our prayers and knows our hearts desires.

I like that I....

1. Love my husband and baby well.

I think Jody would agree that I'm a pretty good wife and once Harrison can talk he will confirm that I'm a rockstar of a mom.

2. Make my family a priority.

The older I get the more I realize just how important family is. I'm not perfect, but I try to make sure they all know how much they are cared for.

3. Don't sugar coat.

Keeping it real since 78'......ask any of my girlfriends.

4. See the glass half full.

I know all babies do this, but when he rolls on his belly and looks up at me like
"I'm kind of a big deal"....the truth is, I swell with pride.

As long as I can remember my mama has tucked a new Christmas ornament in my stocking.
When I got married she passed along all those ornaments and I was so excited about hanging them on my own tree.
I plan on keeping the tradition going with Harrison .
My guess is he won't be quite as jazzed as I was, since he's a dude,
but my mom said "even if he doesn't appreciate them his wife will".....I agree!

My sweet better half has come home the past few nights to a CRANKY little guy.

122 Days

My sweet Harrison.......
Today you are 4 months and your tender hearted mama is feeling all reflective and sentimental. You see, this time last year you were just a wee little tadpole quietly taking residence in a womb that, I was convinced, was broken. Looking at you now, it still blows my mind that you grew inside of me and that you're actually here. I frequently tell your Dad "We have a baby!" because sometimes it still doesn't seem real. You are my heart Harrison Dean......the baby I prayed for long before you were part of me.

Even at 4 months, you are developing quite the spicy personality. You are a big boy these days and have no interest in cuddling or being held like a baby. The only acceptable way to hold you is sitting or standing where you can see all the action. Tummy time falls into the category of "things you hate the most"....I know you can roll over, but you refuse to perform and just bury your head in the floor instead. Your nightly bath time is quickly becoming one of my favorite activities of the day with lots of kicking the water and squealing with joy. As for sleep, you pretty much rock it and have been sleeping through the night for weeks. Even though I appreciate that you're a good sleeper, I miss you and can't wait to see your face and those big smiles every morning. Best of all....we're buddies and I like that you need me.

So if you haven't figured it out yet.....I kind of love you.

So I'm sure it's pretty obvious by now that I'm not going to be winning any "blogger of the year" awards.
As a matter of fact, I won't be winning any "hot new mama" awards either.....sheesh.

The past 2 weeks have been a roller coaster of highs & lows
Highs = My sister-in-law & cutie niece came to visit from GA
Lows = My entire household has had a nasty cold.....there is a lot of mucus up in here!
Harrison has taken his cold like a champ, but Jody and I have felt pretty beat down.
We're hoping that we'll all be wrapping this thing up by tomorrow so we can fully enjoy the weekend. We need to be at 100% to sit on the couch all day and watch football.

Please don't think that because I'm on the mend that I'll be blogging more.....
I'm setting expectations for myself at an all time low
that way when I do blog I can feel really good about myself.

I know things have been pretty quiet on the ol' blog lately, but we have been busy around here with play dates and visitors.

My mom's group started 3 weeks ago and has been AMAZING!

The meetings are pretty structured so we've tried to also meet outside our scheduled time for lunch or neighborhood walks.

My sweet little onion had his 2 month appointment today.

Turns out he is "perfectly symmetrical", according to our pediatrician, falling into the 75th percentile from head to toe.

He also weighed in at 12lbs 10oz......healthy!

Harrison only cried for a minute when he got his shots and I also managed to hold it together {barely}.

I felt bad that he had to get poked so I decided to get a flu shot.....just to be fair.

We were both kind of puny afterwards, so the remainder of the day was spent snuggled on the couch.

Hopefully he will be back to his feisty self in the morning.

Fabulous Seattle Weekend

First let me say that my husband knows me oh so well.
Friday he came home from work and told me we were going out for the evening.
It was a picture perfect day in Seattle and he knew I needed to get out of the house {which I did....desperately} for some fresh air.
We headed over to Alki Beach, strolled along the water and enjoyed the amazing sunset.
Later that evening we stuffed our face with Red Mill Burgers and watched a movie.
Perfection!!!

Saturday was filled with football and a quick trip to Ikea {if those exist}.
All our teams were victorious, which always makes the weekend more pleasurable, and the day ended with a few good naps from Mr. Harrison.

The weekend wrapped up with a productive little Sunday.
We FINALLY got all our pictures hung and the basement organized.
I also got my birthday gift......A TREADMILL!!!
It is going to be super helpful having the treadmill since, if you haven't heard, it rains a lot in Seattle.
The best part of the weekend though was capturing this precious photo.....

well actually it was a toss up between this photo and getting to go to the grocery store by myself.

Couple things -

We went to church on Sunday.....with a baby!!!! I've been so pumped about going to Mars Hill since finding out we were moving to Seattle and it didn't disappoint. I would also like to point out that there were a TON of kids, which is great since.....ya know.....we have a kid these days. Harrison enjoyed the service from the magical moby and was an angel the entire time.
I had my first weight watcher weigh-in and I lost 3.4 lbs! Go me! It would have been more but Jody and I bought {and ate} an entire chocolate mousse pie this weekend.

That's it for tonight......so sleepy

This may come as no surprise to those who've ever had a newborn, but we made big plans for Saturday that never happened. Our PLAN was to wake up and watch the CSU/CU game with the Seattle CSU Alumni and then meet up with Jody's buddy for more football. Unfortunately, Mr. Harrison decided to not let mom or dad sleep the night before and, come morning, we were beat. We decided it would be best to ditch our plans and cheer on the Rams from the comfort of our own home. Jody managed to get a shower but I stayed in my pajamas all day {keeping it real people}.

The day was totally redeemed, since the little onion was in pretty good spirits, and he once againwowed us with his big boy skills.

I meanseriously........check out that upper body strength!!

Harrison also spent some timegetting acquainted with his activity mat.

He was over it in about 5 min.......

but it was fun while itlasted.
Sure turned out to be a pretty great Saturday

Lunch with the papa

After yesterday'sshenanigans, I was terrified to take Harrison downtown for our lunch date withJody. Thankfully my little peach slept until 9 freakin 30!!!, whichallowed me time for a proper shower and left me with a very rested baby. After getting all dolled up, we took the bus into town.....SO big city ofus. Obviously, Harrison was a hit at the office and was mesmerized by allthe lights in Jody's building. He was also a hit on thestreet......guess all those Seattle business folk don't typically get a lot ofadorable baby on their lunch breaks.

The grand finale to anamazing lunch was coming home to 276 diapers at my doorstep. We woreourselves out doing a little porch dance to celebrate and then had to take anap. Today was officially the B-O-M-B and kicked the pants off ofyesterday. I predict more city adventures in our future.

Today you are 6 weeks old!

For the past 5 weeks you have been napping like a champ but today you decided

This is your party face and you were in a partying mood......well for at least 1 hour today.
The remainder of the day you spent eating large quantities of milk and crying.
No Bueno!
I guess you follow the motto "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to"

I guess I'm exaggerating a bit when I say all you did was eat and cry.....
you did take 1 short 45 min nap but insisted on being held {Thanks Mom!}.
Luckily you don't mind snuggling with me when I've just gotten back from a run....
or that you have poor eye sight because I was looking rough.
{who am I kidding? this is what I look like 99% of the time these days}

I did manage to find 1 thing that made you pretty jazzed today, laying on your belly.
I'm convinced you just wanted to show off your mad head lifting skills.
Your dad and I were thoroughly impressed since you have such a heavy noggin.

This may be a touchy subject, but I feel I should point out that you are losing your hair.....
another indication that you truly are a Duvall.

After a long day of celebrating and neck tricks you finally decided it was time to call it a day.

This week marks our first week together.....ALONE!.....just me and the kid.

Not only is it our first week alone, it is also our first week of implementing a schedule.

So far so good, with the exception of the whole crying it out at nap time. {brutal}

This week is also my first week of weight watchers and couch to 5K.

The run yesterday felt amazing and I can't wait to say ADIOS to this extra 20lbs.

I'm still working on my time management, but I'm sure it will get easier every week.

All in all I'm feeling pretty good about this whole mama thing.

Delivery Day

I'm currently snuggling my little guy, who is in a milk induced coma, and wondering if life could get much better than this very moment. It's been so nice being home and sleeping in our own beds. The hospital stay was manageable, but sleep was few and far between. I know a lot of you will have seen these photos on Facebook, but I wanted to upload them for the few that don't Facebook {primarily my mother & aunts}. Enjoy our birth story......it honestly was such a magical day.

I was sure that I wouldn't sleep the night before my c-section, but I actually slept wonderfully and was relaxed as we headed to the hospital. We arrived for check-in at 7:00am and I was prepped for surgery at 9:00am. The nurse, Debbie {who reminded me of my aunt Patsy}, hooked me up to the monitor and checked Harrison's heartbeat. My doctor came in shortly after for a quick ultrasound to make sure he was still breech, which he was......butt down. It was so strange seeing him on the screen and knowing we would finally meet in a few minutes. When it was finally game time I was ready......and VERY anxious.

Jody suited up and waited while I received my spinal and they prepped me for my c-section. The anesthesiologist happened to have been born and raised in Auburn, AL so we talked football, which was a great distraction. Once I was prepped and ready it took all of 5 mins before I heard the scream of our little guy. Jody stepped away with the nurses to get Harrison cleaned up and cut the cord {I've purposely left those photos out....you're welcome}
I've mentioned this to a few people, but it was such a strange feeling laying there by myself waiting for Jody to come out with Harrison. My world had just completely changed, I was experiencing a wave of emotions and the nurses were just going about their business. I felt extremely alone, but that all changed when they laid my little boy on my chest. I honestly felt like it was just the 3 of us in the room.....my new family.

Since we hadn't gotten any good ultrasound photos, his appearance was a complete surprise. The biggest shock of all was all that light brown hair! I was certain he would come out with a head full of black hair, like his dad, but it turns out he looks a lot more like the Duvall side of the family.

I will always treasure the 2 photos above......the first time we both got to hold our little meatball.

After spending, what seemed like an eternity in the recovery room, we were able to go to our mom & baby room and get settled. The remainder of the day was full of visitors and snuggling our, very sleepy, new baby. {How cute is his hat?}

Jody and his mom were an amazing help during the hospital stay, since I wasn't able to move around much. They changed diapers, brought me food, snuggled baby and kept me company through all of the nurses poking and prodding. I've had a super easy recovery and I have both of them to thank for that.

I should also thank my amazing doctor, Heather York, for a job well done. She has given Harrison and I great care.......not to mention a very nice incision! It will be sad saying goodbye to her at my post-op appointment next week.

Since my recovery was going so well, we got to leave the hospital a day early. Our time at home has been incredibly relaxing and has consisted mainly of eating and staring at our really cute baby. Life is good!

Not sure if I mentioned this, but my mother-in-law was kind enough to come stay with me while Jody was in Seattle taking his big test. We had such a lovely week, which included a lot of relaxing, lunches out and purchasing several pairs of big underwear for after my surgery. Jill also came along for my Pre-Op & Anesthesia appointments to be my 2nd set of ears. Thank you so much Jill!!! Looking forward to you coming back next week for Harrison's birth.

It's Update Time!

First things First......it's hot here today! After a week of pretty gloomy weather, this weekend has been beautiful, sunny & warm. I wouldn't complain except that our house doesn't cool down when we have consecutive warm days and we only have 1 room with an AC unit. The warm temps combined with my 37 week baby bump = uncomfortable. I tried to go with it and lay out this afternoon, but I just ended up sweating a lot and quickly moving into the shade. I couldn't help grabbing a quick shot of my hot bod in my swimming suit.

Next on the update list......Friday was my last day at work. It was an amazingly perfect last day filled with a cookout, deemed BABYQ, cards, flowers and lots of tears. I've thoroughly enjoyed my job and have built some amazing relationships that I know will live long past our 3 years here in Eugene. I feel so happy and blessed to be able to have the opportunity to stay home with Harrison, but I know that there will be days when I miss my job.

Finally.......2 things. Jody's BFF from College and his lovely wife totally spoiled Harrison and sent him a box full of adorable CSU baby gear and the most beautiful picture frame. The PRECIOUS mobile above is one of the gifts and it plays the cutest version of the CSU fight song. Now we have an influx of CSU and U of O stuff which means I will now have to balance all that green out with a bunch of red & black.......it's only fair. Our child is destined to be a college football fanatic.
Last thing.......Jody takes the Bar Exam in 1 day, I'm having a baby in 10 days and we're moving in 37 days. I will not freak out, I will not freak out, I will not freak out......

A friend recently asked me how Jody was doing studying for the bar.
I know I haven't mentioned much about "the law" since graduation, but bar prep has been our house guest for the past 2 months and is wearing out its welcome.
Luckily, Jody takes the big test next week and then we will have a few days, just the 2 of us, before my c-section.
Jody has put in an INSANE amount of hours studying and I know he's going to do great.
While Jody is taking the test, I will be trying to not have a baby.

Southern Themed Baby Shower

My sweet friend Megan & her mama {Julie} threw me the most beautiful baby shower this past Saturday. Those 2 ladies went over and beyond to make me feel so special and very loved. The food was AMAZING but the ladies who came to help me celebrate were the best part. We visited while sipping on Peach Bellini's and sweet tea, ate a variety of southern specialties & finished it up with lots of pretty presents for my sweet little boy. Thank you so much to the Budge ladies and for all my sweet lady friends. It was truly a memorable day.......that ended with me taking a dip in the pool! HEAVEN!

Look at that belly!!!!

I had an ultrasound last Friday and it looks like Harrison is currently weighing in at about 6.5 lbs. We were really hoping to get some good 4D pics of our big boy but poor kiddos face was smashed against my uterus. I was worried about him being uncomfortable, but the tech assured me he was nice and cozy. Jody and I weren't that surprised about Harrison's size, but we were a little shocked to find out he is currently breech. There is definitely a chance that he will turn, but if not I will have a c-section at 39 weeks. Either way, he is going to be here soon and it's freaking me out! From this point on I will see my doctor once a week, which has sent me into a manic nesting phase. I spent a large portion of the day Sunday purchasing a mattress and organizing Harrison's room. I also spent my lunch break today ordering a glider and several other must have items. I'm looking forward to setting up a permanent nursery in Seattle, but I'm happy with our little temporary space here in Springfield.

Suiting Up The Belly

Shopping for swimming suits has never ranked high on my "fun" list,
{I would assume most women feel this way}
but it was necessary since we've been invited to a 4th of July pool party.
I attempted to squeeze into one of my bikini's, but there was some serious sausage action going on.....
not appropriate for any type of party......so buying a new suit was inevitable.
I was kind of dreading the whole thing, but found it was the most enjoyable swimsuit shopping experience I've ever had.....EVER!
Honesty I've never been so uncritical of myself.
I put the suit on and asked myself 2 questions....

Are my lady friends covered?
Is my hiney hanging out?

The first suit that received a Yes and No answer was the winner.

The whole process took less than 20 minutes and I left feeling pretty good about this big belly.

Now I can properly celebrate the 4th......

I'm so sad to see this weekend come to an end.
After a rough 32nd week of pregnancy, week 33 totally redeemed itself.
I took my first prenatal yoga class Friday after work, which was very therapeutic.
The yoga instructor is very stereotypical Eugene.....imagine dread locks & lady underarm hair.....
but her voice is so soothing & it was nice to take a few moments to reflect on the pregnancy.
I'm looking forward to going back, especially since my workouts have whittled down to once a week.
Jody & I spent the remainder of Friday evening watching the Mariners game & skypeing with my brother.
It's the best when he's in the mood to chat.
Saturday morning/afternoon was consumed by step class, laundry and deep cleaning the house.
The evening concluded with a Sushi date & trip to Sweet Life for dessert.
This morning I worked my last shift in the nursery at church and prepared for our maternity shoot.
Our photo session was outside of Eugene on a beautiful {huge} piece of property.
Willow, our photographer, is just a gem and made the entire experience so enjoyable.
I'm so excited about seeing all the shots she got and about her coming to take Harrison's newborn photos.
Only 6 more weeks!!!!

Wait for it......35lbs!! I gained 4lbs since my last appointment.

Baby boy weighs?

According to Baby Center he should be around 4lbs but I found out at my latest appointment that I now measure 3 weeks ahead of schedule.....what the what!!! That would put my womb monster at 36 weeks and weighing almost 6 lbs.

Stretch marks?

Still no stretch marks but lots of little spider veins. Will those go away???

Sleep?

Fatigue has set in and I'm reverting back to some 1st trimester habits. Monday I took a "nap" from 7:00-9:30 pm and was back asleep by 10:30. My sleep during the night is still pretty enjoyable......thanks to my pillow nest.

My bladder has really surprised me and still only wakes me up once a night.

UPDATE: At my appointment on Monday Harrison was still measuring REALLY big, 3 weeks to be exact. My doctor suggested we have an ultrasound at my next appointment to see what might be causing me to measure off the charts. More than likely he's still sitting really high or I have an abnormal amount of amniotic fluid, but we shall see in 2 weeks. I'm praying that everything is ok and honestly can't wait to see his sweet little face.

middle of the night bloody nose
backache
fatigue

and one last thing....

I coughed really hard and wet my pants

When Thursday became worse than Monday

This has definitely not been my week.

While outside throwing the baseball and grilling hot dogs,

our concrete planter gave way and I face planted in the grass.

I managed to recover from the fall with only a few cuts but took a pretty hard blow to the tummy.

We called the doctor, to be safe, and he had us come into labor & delivery for some monitoring

.....just in case.

This is how I spent the next 4 hours.

{The pink monitor was for contractions and the blue was for Harrison's heartbeat}

His heartbeat was strong and he started moving around after about 30 minutes.
The monitor showed little mini contractions but nothing alarming.

We killed time watching the Office, Parks & Rec., etc.
and playing Words with Friends.
We're considering this our "trial run"......hopefully I won't be back for at least 7 weeks.

Case of the Pregnancy Mondays

Monday started out rough.

I could feel it the minute I woke up and knew something was off.

I've loved being pregnant and, besides a few minor aches and pains, have enjoyed every minute of it.

With that said, Monday was the first day that pregnancy seemed to be too much.

I starred at myself, and this foreign body, wondering who this person was in the mirror.

I understand this is a common feeling for many pregnant women, but every morning before I gazed in amazement of my growing belly and thanked the Lord for such an amazing gift.

Not this Monday.....I felt trapped in this new body and was soon covered in an overwhelming blanket of fear and uneasiness......what if this whole having a baby thing was a really bad idea? What if I didn't have what it takes? What if, what if, what if?

I went to work on the brink of tears and knew that the slightest push would send me into a fit of water works.

Sure enough, an e-mail from Jody was all I needed to turn into a blubbering pregnant mess.

The cry turned out to be quite cleansing and just what this hormonal human baker needed to find some clarity.

The e-mail confirmed that I'm not in this alone, that life is full of stress but God had equipped me with an amazing partner to help pick me up when I can't do it myself.

Sometimes we just need to be told we are loved to bring things back into prospective.

The Countdown

On Monday I was talking to my work crew about moving and realized that I have a short 7 weeks before I start my maternity leave. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled and feel blessed to be able to stay home with Harrison, but I'm going to truly miss my work family. One of the people I'll miss the most is my sweet Lyric. She is by far one of the kindest people I've ever met and is always filling her schedule helping others. I know she peeks at my blog and I just want her to know that I think she's the cats pajamas......I ❤ you Mrs. Dasso and will miss you to pieces!!!!

31 Weeks of Uterus Expansion

While recovering from a week of vacation and Jody's graduation, I totally neglected week 30 of my pregnancy. Well....it was either that or I was still in shock from my 10lb weight gain. Luckily, at this week's appointment I only gained 1lb and didn't have to make up excuses as to why I was expanding at such rapid speed.

This week also marks my move into the single digit club before Harrison arrives. Jody and I find ourselves frequently reminding one another that we are having a baby......and he will be here soon! Holy Moses.....9 weeks!

Little Pillow Nest

This, ladies & gents, is the best thing that's happened to sleep in the past 31 weeks. Yes it takes up over 1/2 our queen size bed, but a certain husband just knew it would help me catch some Z's. Seriously, Jody surprised me with this large jewel last Friday and I've slept better than I have in 5 weeks. The only exception is that I've been having a lot of nightmares lately, which this pillow doesn't help. My latest dream involved a very kind co-worker of mine being attacked by a wolf as I watched from the safety of a company truck.......sad.

In growing baby news, I had a Dr.'s appointment yesterday and my belly is measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule. This could mean 1 of 2 things.....1. My little womb renter may turn in his keys ahead of schedule, or 2. He's gonna be a BIG boy!! At this point I'm rooting for option #2. I'm not opposed to him coming early as long as we have an agreement that July 26-28 are blackout dates.

One last thing--Jody and I went to our first child birth class this evening. The class confirmed that my uterus is a pretty incredible muscle and that we can make it through a birthing video without laughing like we're in middle school. Because of this great accomplishment, we treated ourselves to ice cream. Good night!

Hello 3rd Trimester

This is what I look like when I'm heading to the gym.....no wonder everyone stares at me.

How far along? 29 weeks
Total weight gain? This is a hard number to type......30lbs.....Yikes!!!
Baby boy weighs? Approx. 3lbs
Stretch marks? Still no stretch marks
Sleep? I'm waking up more during the night to change positions but still sleeping pretty well. Jody ordered me a HUGE pregnancy pillow and I'm hoping it will help.
Middle of the night potty breaks? I'm still only getting up once but it's not every night. I try really hard to not drink much an hour or so before bed and it seems to work.
Best moment this week? 3 day weekend!!!
Movement? He moves his entire body these days instead of random punches.
Food cravings? No specific cravings......it all sounds good these days
Belly button in/out? The top portion of my belly button is out and the remaining is still flush
What I miss: Diet Coke and being about to comfortably tie my shoes

Jody & I spent last week on vaca with our families, Duvalls & Warrens, at the Oregon coast. We filled our days with lots of food, cards, ping pong and playing with our nieces. The week concluded with Jody's graduation from Law School and receiving his JD degree. I'm spending tonight lounging on the couch but will post more later this week.

A letter to my womb-fruit

Dear Harrison,
Today you have been renting a room in my womb for 27 weeks and, according to all that movement, you must be doing some renovations. I'm not complaining though......I enjoy all your hard work.

This week the interweb says you are 2 lbs, 14.5 inches and growing hair. I'm curious if you're going to have a head full of black hair or if you'll surprise us all and come out as a ginger. We've decided that we'll keep you even if you are a red head :)

This past Sunday was Mother's Day and the first time I ever got to stand up as a MOM in church. It was a pretty emotional moment, not because I was standing up as a mother, but because I remembered those few years of wanting nothing more than to be part of those women. I prayed that morning for all the moms and Grandmas, but especially for those whose moms are no longer here and for those who are still waiting to be moms.

On Saturday our family starts to come into town to celebrate your dad graduating from law school. I'm beyond excited and I can't wait to see your dad get his JD diploma. Just a heads up that everyone is going to expect a big performance from you.......no pressure!

26.5 Weeks and a little crafting

Holy belly!! I'm convinced that I've grown substantially in the past week and a half. This has been confirmed by the influx of comments I have received from the random public and the number on the scale. Yikes!

Since Jody has been busy studying for his LAST finals of law school, I took a little time to work on a craft project for Harrison's room. My co-worker & friend, Lyric, found these adorable state pillows on etsy but $50 was a bit steep. We decided to break out the felt and our sewing machines and make our own pillows for a fraction of the price......easy peezy!

I even made a pillow for our soon to be home......good thing my heart has plenty of room to love, yet another, state.

Still here, still alive and my back still hurts! I'm ok if I'm up and moving but the minute I sit.....ouch. This is no bueno for a gal who sits on her heinie the majority of the day. Ok......enough complaining.

With the exception of my aching back, life has been peachy around these parts. The weather has been lovely, which always puts me in a good mood, and we've been taking advantage of the long days. I initiated our first family walk of the Spring/Summer last night after eating way too much for dinner and feeling like Violet from Willy Wonka. The dogs loved getting out of the yard and I predict a lot more evening strolls as I continue to need to "walk it off".

If walks with the hubs & dog friends weren't good enough, I also received my first Mother's Day gift. Jody's aunt & uncle always have these Freesia plants lining the front of their house and they are beautiful. Aunt Kristey decided I needed one of my own......here's praying I don't kill it. {Excuse the bandaid on my pinky finger. I injured myself during an intense session of nesting}

While I'm on the subject of Mother's Day. It occurred to me, while I was standing in the card aisle at Freddies, that one day I would be receiving a Mother's Day card! The thought almost pushed me over the edge and I found myself holding back the tears. It's not cool to cry in the card aisle......so I waited until I got in the car. I'm going to be Harrison's MOM and I'm kind of thrilled.

Oh my back!

OUCH.....I pulled a muscle in my back during step class, which has made me pretty uncomfortable and has put me in a funk. Hopefully I'll be back to my ol' self by the end of the week.

This photo has nothing to do with my back but just gives you a picture of what we do for fun these days. Not sure if that look on Bean's face is more "I'm really annoyed" or "I'm really terrified".

Look what the Easter Bunny brought Harrison.
We've had such a wonderful weekend and it was capped off with an incredibly relaxing Easter.
Today's highlights included:
*Easter service at ECF
*A delicious brunch that included grits!
*A 2 hour nap
*Pioneer Woman's mac & cheese for dinner

and if booties weren't enough, Harrison also got a sweet new ride.....a Bob!
