What an amazing week!
Jody & I spent last week on vaca with our families, Duvalls & Warrens, at the Oregon coast. We filled our days with lots of food, cards, ping pong and playing with our nieces. The week concluded with Jody's graduation from Law School and receiving his JD degree. I'm spending tonight lounging on the couch but will post more later this week.
*Thank you to my cousin Heather for being the family photographer and capturing all the fun*

Ode to the Weekend....
Jody and I loved having Kerri in town for the weekend and we were sad to send her back to CO. The 3 days she was here were pretty low key, but we managed to sneak in a little shopping and lots of food. That's a good vacation in my book! Here are my top 10 highlights of the weekend...

- This amazing 5 year memory book from Kerri. I love the vintage look of the binding and the gold writing. Thank you sweet friend!
- Eating $1 cinnamon rolls before we conquered the "Ikea Maze". I think I found a chest of drawers that will look good in our little guys room.
- Celebrating Suzie's 25th birthday at Cafe Soriah. The chef accidentally flung butter on Jody's jacket so they gave us a free bottle of wine.
- Pimento Cheese Sandwiches. We combined the recipe from Paula Dean and Garden & Gun....delicious!
- Finding some new maxi dresses at Forever 21. I'm looking forward to spending the summer months in long flowy dresses instead of restricting pants.
- First cookout of the spring/summer at Lauren & Andrew's. It's one of my favorite parts of the longer, warmer months.
- Making rice crispy treats. Kerri's recipe calls for exactly 37 large marshmallows and they are perfect every time.
- Brunch at Cafe 440. They make the most delicious grits!!! (That's quite the compliment coming from a southern gal)
- Sweet surprises in the mail for the firecracker. Thank you Camilla and Aunt Becca!
- Burgerville.....twice! We don't have one in Eugene so we take full advantage when we're in Portland.
7 out of 10 have something to do with food......told you we ate a lot!

So we've had a slight change of plans.....
turns out we're moving to Seattle!!!

Long story short, Jody has been offered an amazing job in downtown Seattle and we couldn't be more thrilled. So as of right now.......Jody takes the bar at the end of July, Baby D makes his/her appearance early August and we pack up September 1. I know it's going to be an exhausting 6 weeks but I know it will be worth it. We feel so blessed to be given this opportunity and look forward to making Seattle our new home.
Come visit!!!

Blah....Barf.....Barf....Blah
There are few things worse than being sick........being sick & pregnant. Not only have I felt like death for the last 48hrs but I've also been crazy paranoid that I was dehydrating my child. My Dr. tried to help my situation by prescribing me Promethazine, which help with the nausea & poops, but made me feel like I was having an out of body experience. I swear I was having trouble making a complete sentence and I was drooling. If your interested, you should ask Jody to do his impression of me doped up......it's a riot! Speaking of Jody, he has been so sweet and never complained once about the 100+ times I got out in & out of bed to go potty. I ♡ him!

Season of Change
Jody had his last final yesterday which means he is only 1 semester away from graduating. This also means that we are 1 semester away from ending this season of our lives and embarking on a brand new season {in a currently unknown location}. I keep trying to hold tight to these last days in 2010 knowing that 2011 is full of so many unknowns and big life changing moments. Thankfully there is a plan in the works!
The next moment is as much beyond our grasp, and as much in God's care, as that a hundred years away. Care for the minute is as foolish as care for a day in the next thousand years. In neither can we do anything, in both God is doing everything. - C. S. Lewis

Snow
Break out the snow chains, cancel school and become an amazingly terrible driver
......there's snow in Oregon!
The saddest part of the drive to work was seeing all the little kiddos trying to make snowmen out of a 1/4 inch of slush.

The Big One
When I came home from the gym on Saturday I was greeted at the door by my husband.......smiling from ear to ear. Turns out that my honey finally caught that big fish he had been working so hard for.

Jody cooked her up for dinner and we invited friends over for the feast.

You are my refuge...
My mom sent me this excerpt from a devotional a few months back. It now has a permanent place on my bulletin board and will continue to be heavily referenced throughout this 3L year.
Hard times energize some people, yet paralyze others. Look at David. Everything he touched turned to gold: Samuel anointed him to be king; he defeated Goliath; Saul chose him as a musician and warrior; the army loved him and wrote songs about him. Then his life fell apart. He lost his job and his marriage failed; Samuel his old mentor died; his best friend Jonathan couldn't help him, and Saul's soldiers hounded him until he had to hide in a cave. At some point we all do time in the cave! It's where God does some of his best work in molding you into the likeness of Christ. It's where your worst inadequacies confirm that you're out of your depth, and where God sends his power to flow through your weakness. When David prayed"You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living," (Psalms 142:5) he'd no way of knowing there was a crown in his future, or that he wasn't going to die in hiding. For all he knew, this cave he was in right now might be as good as it gets. When you're in a situation you can't fix, can't change and can't escape, trust God! trust God! trust God! As long as your sense of security is tied solely to your success, it'll always be fragile. But when you know that God is with you even at your lowest point, you can handle the cave and come out stronger.
