June showers bring July sunshine???

*Harrison's 1st self feed spaghetti dinner was a success*
Our first day of July was overcast & rainy.
I hate to say this, with it being 100+ around most of the U-S of A, but we are ready for some sunshine up in here.
Please don't let us down July......we know summer is just dying to get a hold of some pasty white pacific northwest skin.

Roller Coaster

Wanna hear something gross?
I caught Harrison chewing on something this afternoon.
Wanna know what is was?
My toe nail!
Eeewwww.......
I have to clip my toenails constantly, now that I'm running so much, and I guess one got away.
Leave it to my baby to search it out.
I know it's gross, but it makes me laugh.......and right now I need a good laugh.
This week has been emotionally paralyzing.
I'll give ya the short version.
Found a house, offer, counteroffer, acceptance, fraudulent disclosure, bye bye contract......sad face
Here's the thing......I prayed for this.
I've been praying all week that if this was not the right house, if there was something better, that God would make it very apparent.
He did just that and it was not our doing.
I cried......even though He did exactly what I asked.
Typical.
The disappointment was short lived because I know God is preparing a home for us in His perfect time.

In other news.....
Harrison has a date tomorrow night with his very first babysitter {the kind we actually pay}.

Discovery Park

The Pacific Northwest has really been killing it in the weather department the past few weekends. Today we reached 70+, which is crazy for April in this part of the country, there was porcelain skin peppering parks all over Seattle.
We're lucky to live close to one of those parks and went for a trek to check out the water.
We were pretty excited about Harrison's first dip in the water, but he did not share our enthusiasm.
Jody tried giving H a pep talk {He's crying in this picture}
but he still hated it.
Side note......does anyone else bruise easily?
I seem to always be sporting a hand full of bruises on my body.
Days like today make all that rain a tad bit more bearable.

20% Off

We had ourselves a lovely afternoon at the local REI.
Did you know they are having a 20% off 1 item deal?
I didn't either, but a large majority of Seattle did......that place was b⋆u⋆s⋆y!
Babycakes had himself a blast.......he's kind of outdoorsy.
He tried on cute hats, charmed a bunch of ladies and picked himself up a Burley.
The sun graced us with it's presence, so we played outside while pops hooked up the new gear.
Harrison thoroughly enjoyed himself.
Once we have a mini helmet, and the "ok" from the pediatrician, we'll hit the road.
Until then, I'll just strap him in for kicks.......and because he just looks so darn cute in there.

Kind of got a lot going on....

Please forgive me {Sam :)} for neglecting my little blog lately, but I've got my hands full around here......namely, Mr. Harrison and packing, packing, packing.  I've got a ton to write about, but it will have to wait until we make it to Seattle and get settled.  In the meantime, I leave you with this adorable photo from Harrison's newborn shoot.
This pic was the runner up for our birth announcements.......which will be ordered this weekend and hopefully sent out before he turns 1.  Once again, this amazing photo was taken by my friend Willow at WillowBee Photography {she was the talented lady behind THESE photos}

Big City Bound

It became very apparent when we were in Seattle that trying to navigate city streets while looking at the GPS on our iphones was not safe. So, in preparation for the big city move we purchased a TOMTOM. With newer cars coming standard with GPS and people using there phones more to help them get around, we were able to find a smokin deal and got our new friend......1/2 off!! Hopefully we won't have any Michael Scott issues....

An Amazing Weekend!

What an amazing weekend! Jody and I were itching to get up to Seattle to start checking out our new home and we couldn't have picked a more perfect weekend. The weather was unseasonable clear and rain free, which made exploring much more enjoyable.

We headed up on Friday afternoon and made a pit stop to visit with Jody's grandparents. They put us up for the night and we headed north early Saturday morning. Once we got to Seattle we drove around for hours checking out Green Lake, Wallingford, Fremont and Ballard. Late in the afternoon we headed downtown for some shopping and dinner. Jody purchased some new jeans, since he has lost weight, and I purchased some maternity tops, since I'm expanding rapidly. We didn't forget about the sweet P and bought him/her this adorable little onesie......
it's covered in little vespas♥
Sunday morning we woke up and explored Queen Anne and Magnolia before heading to brunch at Toulouse Petit. The food was really good but the best part was getting to see a familiar face from Valdosta. Catherine has lived in Seattle for a few years now and it is always great to catch up with her. It's also really nice to know I'm going to have a southern gal to hang with when we finally get settled.
The last thing we did before heading out of town was head over to Mercer Island. Jody's dad, Jim, grew up on Mercer Island and we wanted to see his childhood home. We took this picture for Jimbo........memories like the corner of my mind♪♫
Living in a big city will definitely be a big adjustment but I think we are up for the challenge.......as soon as I get over the fact that the Costco and Target are 20mins away.
XOXO

Video Wisdom

Over the past week I have been thinking a lot about the future......it's hard not to when you have a baby and a move dangling in the distance. I've been praying lately for wisdom, especially when it comes to parenting and our future finances. Fast forward to last night........I was checking in on sermons from one of my favorite pastors {Mark Driscoll @ Mars Hills....in Seattle!!!} and last weeks message was on being a wise steward of money. I encourage you to check out the video below.......
In this difficult parable, Jesus teaches about money from the negative example of a dishonest manager. Everything belongs to God, and we are to wisely steward it. Jesus gives us a kingly, priestly, and prophetic view of money: Christians—rich and poor—need to be shrewd stewards who use their money to love people because wealth will fail (if not in this life, then at the end of this life). Money is a wonderful tool and a horrible god. Your money reveals your heart. Are you a shrewd steward who is able to love others financially? Do you understand that, in time, invariably, your wealth will fail you?

So we've had a slight change of plans.....

turns out we're moving to Seattle!!!
Long story short, Jody has been offered an amazing job in downtown Seattle and we couldn't be more thrilled. So as of right now.......Jody takes the bar at the end of July, Baby D makes his/her appearance early August and we pack up September 1. I know it's going to be an exhausting 6 weeks but I know it will be worth it. We feel so blessed to be given this opportunity and look forward to making Seattle our new home.

Come visit!!!
