Hello Sunshine!

I don't think I've been this happy for the start of a new week in quite awhile. After a long week of little sleep, feeling really run down and missing out on all our weekly activities, I'm looking forward to getting back on schedule. Another plus to this week is a lovely forecast full of sunshine and warmer temperatures. There's nothing quite as healing as some good spring weather!
 * A post isn't complete without a few pics of the dude
* Nice!!

Well Hello Sunshine

There are days, like last Saturday, that I look at the Seattle skyline and pinch myself.
I am truly humbled by the blessings that have been bestowed on my family in 2011.
*This has been one of the driest December's in Seattle history.*

Case of the Pregnancy Mondays

Monday started out rough.
I could feel it the minute I woke up and knew something was off.
I've loved being pregnant and, besides a few minor aches and pains, have enjoyed every minute of it.
With that said, Monday was the first day that pregnancy seemed to be too much.
I starred at myself, and this foreign body, wondering who this person was in the mirror.
I understand this is a common feeling for many pregnant women, but every morning before I gazed in amazement of my growing belly and thanked the Lord for such an amazing gift.
Not this Monday.....I felt trapped in this new body and was soon covered in an overwhelming blanket of fear and uneasiness......what if this whole having a baby thing was a really bad idea?  What if I didn't have what it takes?  What if, what if, what if?
I went to work on the brink of tears and knew that the slightest push would send me into a fit of water works.
Sure enough, an e-mail from Jody was all I needed to turn into a blubbering pregnant mess.
The cry turned out to be quite cleansing and just what this hormonal human baker needed to find some clarity.
The e-mail confirmed that I'm not in this alone, that life is full of stress but God had equipped me with an amazing partner to help pick me up when I can't do it myself.
Sometimes we just need to be told we are loved to bring things back into prospective.

Sweet Surprise

There are several things that Oregon is known for, but customer service ain't one of them. Ok....it may be presumptuous to put the whole state in that category, but it's a fact of life in Eugene & Portland. Since it is so rare to get good service around these here parts, Jody and I tend to make note of being treated as welcomed guest in an establishment. A couple Saturdays ago we went and set up our main baby registry at Fletcher's, a local run baby emporium. That is where I met my new BFF and registry saviour, Nikki. That sweet lady walked us around the entire store helping us decide what we needed and explaining every product as we went along. She was crazy knowledgeable about everything from car seats to pee pee teepees and was never pushy. Anyway, the cherry on top came when she called yesterday to tell me to stop by the store for a pickup. When I got to the store there was a sweet gift wrapped in blue paper from, who else, Nikki. What was inside the box? Well she got us the one item of clothing that Jody specifically requested......

Nikki's kindness really got me thinking......When was the last time I did something nice for someone else? No birthday, anniversary or Christmas......just because I knew it would make someones day.

Hmm....Maybe it's time we all pay it forward.
