June showers bring July sunshine???

Our first day of July was overcast & rainy.
I hate to say this, with it being 100+ around most of the U-S of A, but we are ready for some sunshine up in here.
Please don't let us down July......we know summer is just dying to get a hold of some pasty white pacific northwest skin.

Back from a little vaca.....

Well hello....
We took a short trip down to Oregon to attend the wedding of Jody's cousin.
The weather was perfect and the bride, oh the bride, she was a beauty......the groom was also pretty snazzy.
After the "I do's", the entire Duvall/Shier crew headed back up to Seattle for the week.
It was just so nice having everyone under one roof and being able to love on those babies whenever I wanted. {1 niece & 3 nephews.......I had enough sugar for them all}.
Harrison was on his best behavior and did some serious food consumption......kid can put down some food!

Now we have 2 short weeks until we move, so we are in full on packing mode.
In addition to the packing, I'm also refinishing an armoire that is quite the project.
It's going to be beautiful when it's done, but sheesh......talk about bad timing.
Luckily, we won't have to do this again for a VERY long time.

Southern Themed Baby Shower

My sweet friend Megan & her mama {Julie} threw me the most beautiful baby shower this past Saturday.  Those 2 ladies went over and beyond to make me feel so special and very loved.  The food was AMAZING but the ladies who came to help me celebrate were the best part.  We visited while sipping on Peach Bellini's and sweet tea, ate a variety of southern specialties & finished it up with lots of pretty presents for my sweet little boy.  Thank you so much to the Budge ladies and for all my sweet lady friends.  It was truly a memorable day.......that ended with me taking a dip in the pool! HEAVEN!

Suiting Up The Belly

Shopping for swimming suits has never ranked high on my "fun" list,
{I would assume most women feel this way}
but it was necessary since we've been invited to a 4th of July pool party.
I attempted to squeeze into one of my bikini's, but there was some serious sausage action going on.....
not appropriate for any type of party......so buying a new suit was inevitable.
I was kind of dreading the whole thing, but found it was the most enjoyable swimsuit shopping experience I've ever had.....EVER!
Honesty I've never been so uncritical of myself.
I put the suit on and asked myself 2 questions....

1. Are my lady friends covered?
2. Is my hiney hanging out?

The first suit that received a Yes and No answer was the winner.  

The whole process took less than 20 minutes and I left feeling pretty good about this big belly.  

Now I can properly celebrate the 4th......

We've done so many fun things this summer and I'm kicking myself that I didn't bother to bring my camera along for the ride. Last weekend we went to an amazing wedding and all I have to show for it are 2 lousy iphone pictures and some pretty amateur video.

Hi....it's me

Hi! Still here just been CRAZY busy.
The month of July was a whirlwind and left me wondering what happened to our summer.
Here’s the cliffs notes version of the month:

*Rented a house at the coast for the 4th with some law school cronies. Had an amazing time watching the fireworks from our hot tub…….did I mention it was AMAZING?
*Attended 30th surprise party
*Visited family in Salem……can’t get enough of those Shimeks.
*Took an all day fly fishing lesson. We caught between 10-12 fish each and took some home for dinner.Can’t believe I caught a fish? There is video to prove it. I will try and get it up for the world to see very soon.
*Went to Seattle to visit some friends. If you’ve never been to Seattle you need to go…….preferable sometime between June and August.
*Threw a bbq for some friend’s upcoming nuptials……ok it wasn’t just for them but I did make a toast.
*Designed place cards and programs for aforementioned friends. They are precious!

On top of all those fun activities we’ve both been working and I have been spending many an hour doing Junior League “stuff”.
The Mr. begins school in 2 weeks and the year is sure to bring big changes to our little family once again. I’m looking forward to the next season of our lives but enjoying the journey getting there. Hope everyone's summers have been lovely♥

Well Hello.....

Summer has finally arrived in the Northwest {even if it's kinda cloudy today}! The honey and I have been doing fun things in the evening like taking the dogs for walks, bike rides, runs in the park, drives on the motorcycle and lots of bbqing with friends. My posts will be a little less frequent but don't fret we are doing fine and enjoying some much needed vitamin D.
