Seahawks.....Superbowl Champs

Let me just start off by saying Seattle went BANANAS over the Seahawks winning the superbowl. The city threw a parade, the Wednesday after the victory, and it was estimated that 750,000 people showed up to cheer on the team. There was absolutely no way I was taking the kids into that madness but, since Jody's building is right downtown, he was in the thick of it.
This is the view of the crowd from Jody's office window. He said you could clearly hear the fans chanting "Seahawks" on the 28th floor.

This was the view right outside his building......holy fans! It was 30-50 deep and, did I mention, around 32 degrees outside. Burrrr!!!

We had our own indoor celebration......GO HAWKS!!!

GERMuary had a grand finale

I laugh now at my post from January 29th because, just as I thought we were finally getting healthy, I came down with a 24hr stomach virus on the evening of the 30th. Thankfully, Jody was able to take the following day off, thanks to a canceled court appearance, and pick up his parents from the airport. By Saturday morning I was feeling much better and we were able to get out of the house and do some exploring in Snohomish.

The remainder of the day was nice and relaxing.......as we prepared for the big game on Sunday.
We were a house divided for the Superbowl, since Jim & Jill were routing for their home team, but it was all Seahawks for the entire game.......and we needn't rub it in :) Our victory would have been a bit sweeter if Jody had felt better, but he started feeling nauseous during the 4th quarter and went straight to bed when the game was over. I wish the story ended there but, turns out, grandma Jill was also up the majority of the night and Jim didn't feel 100%. Come Monday morning, I was the last adult standing while everyone else was still on the crummy side. To make matters worse, poor Jim had to get on a plane and I felt terrible that his departing gift was a nasty bug.
Jill was here for the remainder of the week and, I'm happy to report, there were no more instances of all night bathroom camp outs :) We celebrated our health, and my sweet boy turning 2 1/2, with cupcakes....because cupcakes make everything better.

We, reluctantly, sent grandma Jill home on Friday but I'm so thankful she was able to spend the week with us. We're already counting down to the next time we'll see them......in Mexico!!!!

This is totally off topic, but if any of you are looking for a really great book to read may I suggest "Believing God" by Beth Moore. I'm only halfway through and I've filled a dozen pages with wisdom that I don't want to forget.

The stuff dreams are made of

The weekend after we moved into our house, Jody got an offer that he couldn't refuse......sideline passes to the Oregon vs Washington game. Long story but a friend of a friend works for ESPN and bada bing bada boom....Jody's head explodes! The only caveat to the tickets was the wearing of neutral colors, since they were press passes, but I'm sure his choice of sidelines showed his true colors. He got up close and personal with Puddles, the Oregon mascot, and even caught an out of bounds ball {no biggie}. The cherry on top was the Oregon victory for the 10th year in a row.

The name of the game is FLEXIBILITY

This may come as no surprise to those who've ever had a newborn, but we made big plans for Saturday that never happened.  Our PLAN was to wake up and watch the CSU/CU game with the Seattle CSU Alumni and then meet up with Jody's buddy for more football.  Unfortunately, Mr. Harrison decided to not let mom or dad sleep the night before and, come morning, we were beat.  We decided it would be best to ditch our plans and cheer on the Rams from the comfort of our own home.  Jody managed to get a shower but I stayed in my pajamas all day {keeping it real people}.
The day was totally redeemed, since the little onion was in pretty good spirits, and he once again wowed us with his big boy skills.
I mean seriously........check out that upper body strength!!
Harrison also spent some time getting acquainted with his activity mat.
He was over it in about 5 min.......
but it was fun while it lasted.
Sure turned out to be a pretty great Saturday

Best case weekend scenario
UGA beats Auburn and Oregon stomps Cal
Oregon stays at #1 and UGA adds a 5th year of domination over Auburn
I like it!

What we don't want to happen this weekend.....
Please don't make the Duvalls hate you

Hello Weekend....I Missed You

Congrats are in order to the Ducks who kicked the life out of the UCLA Bruins last night. My only complaint.....the butt woopin' took place on a Thursday night.
Does anyone else think that College Football on Thursday nights are lame? Here's what I won't complain about.....our mascot.
He's a riot!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. The husband and I plan on carving pumpkins, playing pinochle and watching the Auburn/LSU game.
