As a parent, I learn something new about my kid everyday.
Today I learned that my 15 month old is not ready for craft time.
Thanks to Pinterest, I got the wild idea that my baby + paint was a wise idea.
Most the handprints were unrecognizable, but I managed to save 2 ornaments before Harrison ate a handful of paint.
I think the next time we craft H will be much older and we will start with crayons.

| We had one of those weekends that you're sad to see end. There was a dinner out with friends, a dinner in with friends, coffee, movies, walks and crafting {the above "In this house" inspired by pinterest}. Looking forward to enjoying the last few days of February ❤ |

Take 2.....
After 2 weekends of amazing weather it was inevitable that the rain would return {BOO!!}. The only good thing about cruddy weather is that you don't feel bad about not leaving the house or getting out of your pajamas. The hubs and I slept in, had an amazing french toast breakfast and then I spent the rest of the day at my sewing machine. I was determined to make THIS dress even if my FIRST attempt was a bust. This time around I followed the directions and I'm really happy with how it turned out. With the exception of the ruffles, which just about drove me to drink, the dress was pretty easy to put together.
{Look at those dark roots!!! Yikes}
Here's a close up of the ruffles. Honestly they wouldn't have been that difficult had the pattern not called for a french seam on 3' of fabric. Ugg....not fun!! I added my little vintage brooch for a pop of color.
On a separate note, look what finally made it's debut.....
turns out that my diploma is twice the size of Jody's from CSU. I contribute the size difference to the fact that my GPA was so much higher than Jody's. He contributes it to the number of years I was in College......not nice!

The Summer Has Begun
This morning marked the Duvalls first official day of Summer!! Hip Hip Hooray!
With lunch packed, tie on and brief case in hand I sent Jody out the door and to his first day as a realish attorney {as real as you can get with a year left of school}. I was beyond proud! By far the best part of sending Jody off to work was knowing that when he got off at 5 that I don't have to share him with criminal law, trial practice and that always pesky constitutional law 2.
Summer also marks the reemergence of the law student social life. The hubs goes to school with some really amazing people that, unfortunately, I don't see much of when school is in session. Now that school is out a group law school ladies has started up a potluck/craft night that they have so graciously included me in. Last night was our first get together and we made these cute flower pins following the directions from the blog GROSGRAIN.
I used this mauve linen fabric and the 2 smaller flower patterns
Here's Ashley cutting out her petals.....I told her not to look at the camera because I wanted an action shot!
My flowers drying after a heavy coat of Aqua Net.
Wah-la!! The finished product
I thought is was pretty cute so I wore it to work this morning. Next craft night I plan on taking a lot more photos of everyones finished products......they were all so adorable! Thank you Lauren for having us in your home! {You are kinda the best!}
With Love,
